A Canyon County Judge busted by Meridian police for an Aug. 25 DUI, pleaded guilty to the charge Tuesday in an Ada County courtroom.
This morning's Idaho Press-Tribune reports that 3rd District Judge Renae Hoff was sentenced to 32 hours of community service, a suspension of her driving privileges for 102 days, and $950 in fines and court costs.
Hoff, 61, was stopped by Meridian police on Aug. 25 near Ten Mile Road and Acarrera Court for failing to maintain her traffic lane. Police said they could smell alcohol, and the judge failed a field sobriety test.
The Press-Tribune reports that Hoff had already completed 16 hours of alcohol counseling and participated in a victim impact panel prior to Tuesday's sentencing.
Hoff, who was appointed to the bench in 1990, said she would retire from her position effective Jan. 4.
