A Spokane woman told law enforcement Wednesday that she had no memory of leaving her children along an Idaho highway Tuesday night.
Shannon Germanton, 27, was found by Spokane County sheriff's deputies inside a home after leaving her car and the two children, ages 3 and 6, on Interstate 90, near Post Falls. Germanton said she needed gas, but when police tried to call her repeatedly on her cellphone, she hung up.
This morning's Coeur d'Alene Press reports that, on Wednesday, Kootenai County prosecutors decided to add child endangerment charges against Germanton. She had already been locked up in Spokane on a traffic charge. After facing her Washington charge, Germanton will be extradited to idaho to face the endangerment charges.
