With Election Day less than a week away, Ada County is readying its counting machines and staff to log the ballots of thousands of voters.
At Ada County Board of Elections, officials performed logic and accuracy testing on counting equipment earlier today. Test ballots were sent through the machines to ensure voters' choices are accurately logged.
Those machines and staff will be busy counting thousands of votes the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 6, including absentee, early voting and ballots cast that day.
According to officials, counting all the ballots for this year's election could take until 6 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7.
In addition, early voting at Benjamin Lane ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2. Ada County is also encouraging voters return absentee ballots, which must be inside returned no later than 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6.
