Fish and Game Busts Seven in Largest Poaching Takedown of Season

In its largest bust of the season, Idaho Fish and Game conservation officers hit seven alleged poachers with 16 citations and five more warnings at a Hazard Creek hunting camp.

Fish and Game said the seven poachers were from Harrison and communities in Nevada and Minnesota.

The Nevada and Minnesota hunters admitted to the poaching and were sentenced to fines and license revocations. The Idaho hunter, who was not named, is slated to appear in an Idaho County court Tuesday, Nov. 6.

Fish and Game officers said they recovered the corpses of two elk and two deer in the campground bust.

Charges included the unlawful killing of elk, illegal transfer of hunting tags, and wasteful destruction.
