Weather Service: Cold, Wet Week in the Valley, Snow in the Mountains

A storm system pushing in from the Pacific Northwest this morning greeted Treasure Valley commuters with rain and even some snow showers at Bogus Basin, and the National Weather Service office in Boise tells us to expect more precipitation through Tuesday, Oct. 23, and into Wednesday, Oct. 24, with lows near freezing and highs in the upper 40s.

Terrain above 4,00 feet can expect more snow through this evening.

A winter weather advisory has been posted for the Sawtooth Mountains and the Wood River region, while a winter storm warning is in effect from through the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 23, for the Southern Clearwater, Bitterroot and Sapphire mountains, with accumulations of 4-8 inches expected in higher terrain and mountain passes.
