Longtime City of Boise employee Doug Holloway was picked today to serve as director of one of the city's largest and highest profile departments: Parks and Recreation. Holloway replaces Jim Hall, who retired in July after serving the department since 1991.
"The Parks and Recreation Department has a proud tradition of excellence in Boise," said Holloway. "I look forward to continuing that mission.”
Holloway currently serves as the superintendent of the department's recreation division. He has worked for the department for 11 years.
Holloway's selection requires approval from the Boise City Council, which will take up the issue at its Tuesday, Oct. 23, meeting.
