A mountain lion spotted on the Garden City and Eagle sections of the Boise River Greenbelt may now be closer to Boise.
New reports of a big cat came from a Boise Police officer on a bicycle near Quinn's Pond Friday. He said he saw the cat in a gravel area near 31st and Pleasanton streets around 9:30 a.m., but the cat quickly ran off.
Officials urge residents to call 911 if they see a mountain lion in the city.
Back in May, a similar number of downtown sightings kept the city on alert for another big cat.
A female mountain lion was shot by Boise Police after it was spotted near Bronco Stadium on May 22. Officials were forced to put down the animal because it had become habituated to humans and refused to leave the populous area.
