More Americans filed first-time claims for jobless benefits last week, according to the U.S. Labor Department.
More than a quarter of a million citizens filed jobless claims in the week ending Sept. 29, an increase of 4,000, to 367,000 applications in total. The week prior recorded the lowest number of claims in two months.
Additionally, 3.28 million people continued to collect jobless benefits, a number unchanged in the week ending Sept. 22.
