The Simplot Family's Jack's Urban Meeting Place project continues to move forward. The city signed off Oct. 1 on JUMP, a six-story, 65,000-square-foot facility to be built on 7.5 acres in downtown Boise.
Crews have been at work preparing the large parcel just off Ninth Street, bordered by Front, Myrtle and 11th streets.
Just after 6 p.m., the Planning and Zoning Commission moved the JUMP application to the consent agenda, after offering those in attendance the chance to speak publicly for or against the project. No member of the audience asked to testify.
Commissioners then approved the plans, presented to the city's Design Review Committee in July, with a voice vote. No commissioner voted against the project.
The project is expected to open in 2014 and will later include a tower that will become the new home of the Simplot company.
