Homedale High Student Under Arrest For Writing 'Hit List'

The Idaho Press Tribune reports that a young male has been locked up at the Canyon County Juvenile Detention Center, accused of threatening violence at Homedale High School. The student was suspended last week and arrested Wednesday.

Homedale Police confirmed that the student is accused of creating a so-called "hit list," containing 15 names. School officials refused to discuss specific threats made on the list, which was hand-written.

A rumor that the student was coming into the school "created chaos" earlier today, according to Homedale Police Chief Jeff Eidemiller.

According to school officials, approximately one-third of Homedale High School students did not show up for class today or were excused by their parents to leave early.

In April, a student at Boise's East Junior High School was suspended for creating a hit list, with threats to harm students and some celebrities.
