McCall Council Continues Closed-Door Search for City Manager

City officials in McCall are continuing the search for a new city manager, but they still don't want anyone to know about the process and decline to reveal the names of applicants.

This morning's McCall Star-News reports that five applicants have been considered finalists from a pool of 56. The review of the candidates occurred during a closed-door meeting of the McCall City Council on Aug. 20, according to the Star-News.

Interim City Manager Gene Drabinski told the Star-News that the council was "upbeat and enthusiastic" about the search.

Earlier this month, Lindley Kirkpatrick left the city manager position to move his family to Scotland, where his wife is starting an MBA program at the University of Edinburgh. Kirkpatrick notified the McCall Council in May of his intentions. He had held the post since 2004.
