Wednesday was a tough day for Alicia Kramer. She thought that she had done everything right. Enlisting the support from Idaho elected officials and football fans everywhere, she spent practically every working hour on trying to get the National Football League to nominate her dad to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. But the news wasn't good: Jerry Kramer, legendary Green Bay Packer and Idaho native, was passed over once more by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Senior Selection Committee.
"I know my Dad will simply say — thanks for all the support and love," wrote Alicia Kramer in a statement released by Gallatin Public Affairs. “It may seem strange to say that you can be very disappointed and enormously gratified at the same time, but that is my feeling today. Disappointed, of course, that my Dad was not nominated by the Senior Selection Committee for the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but at the same time enormously gratified by the coast-to-coast show of support, respect, even love that people have shown him."
