Sun Valley Police Arrest One of Their Own for Drunken Driving

Sun Valley's chief of police isn't commenting on the recent drunken-driving arrest of his right-hand man.

This morning's Idaho Mountain Express reports that Sun Valley Assistant Police Chief Mike Crawford faces a DUI charge after allegedly backing into a parked car in downtown Hailey Aug. 11. A fellow officer reported that Crawford smelled of alcohol and blew a blood-alcohol level of .17, more than double the legal limit. The Mountain Express said Crawford wasn't arrested but was issued a citation, ordering a Monday, Aug. 27, court date.

The Mountain Express reports that Crawford, who has been on the force 11 years, remained on the job this week, and Police Chief Cameron Dagget said he was "instructed" to make no comment.
