Female Idaho Inmate Found Dead in Pocatello Prison


Idaho prison officials are investigating the apparent suicide of a female inmate at the Pocatello Women's Correctional Center in Pocatello.

Cynthia Jones, 51, was founding hanging in a shower area of the prison on Sunday afternoon. Paramedics were unable to resuscitate her.

Jones was serving a prison sentence for a 1994 conviction of kidnapping, aggravated assault and illegal possession of a weapon. She was scheduled for release in July 2018.

Idaho State Police are assisting IDOC in the investigation.
