Downtown bar and restaurant owners want to offer valet service, according to a proposal the Boise City Council will take up Tuesday, July 17.
Cece Gassner, economic development assistant to Mayor Dave Bieter, drafted a memo for the City Council that considers allowing valet services in the downtown area. She wrote that while considerations about rights-of-way, parking space management and valet contracts with businesses were issues to consider, businesses were asking for the option.
The proposed downtown valet parking ordinance would provide for both regular and special event valet services, requirements for signage, and that valet companies must charge a reasonable rate for their services.
