Attorney General's Probe of Sun Valley Fire Station Break-In Expected to Wrap Up Next Week

A forensic investigation into a series of crimes in Sun Valley is expected to wrap up in the next week.

In April, Citydesk first reported that the Idaho Attorney General's Office had launched a probe of a break-in at the Sun Valley Fire Station, during which personnel files were deleted. The break-in occurred after a series of city-related events, including the fire chief being put on administrative leave and an internal audit of accounting practices and financial transactions.

In addition to the AG's investigation, the Blaine County Prosecutor's Office is conducting a separate probe of Sun Valley "issues."

Sun Valley Mayor Dewayne Briscoe has said that the city is reluctant to begin the search for a new city administrator until the investigations are complete. The Sun Valley City Council is expected to receive a report on the findings in mid-July.
