Jimmy Farris is suiting up for what may be the toughest competition of his life—a run for Congress. Facing incumbent Republican Rep. Raul Labrador, Farris, a Super Bowl-winning NFL veteran, understands the formidable task before him.
"A lot of people told me when I first announced, 'You’re just a kid. You think you’re tough enough for politics?' I thought, 'Do you know what I’ve been doing for the last 15 years?' One thing that won’t be an issue is my toughness,” said Farris.
In Wednesday's BW, we talk to Farris about his bumpy primary race, the importance of money in politics, and how the National Football League has more in common with the bloodsport of politics than most people think.
