Mitt Romney's Fantasy Home Includes Car Elevator

How rich is Mitt Romney? Apparently, rich enough to install a car elevator in his California house.

Politico's Reid Epstein wrote this about Romney's plans for his San Diego beach house:

"It may not help Romney - whose wealth has caused him trouble connecting with average folks - to be seen building a split-livel, four-vehicle garage that comes with a 'car lift' to transport automobiles between floors, according to 2008 schematic plans for the renovation obtained by Politico that are on file with the city of San Diego."

The U.S. Secret Service requested that Politico not publish the architectural drawings for the batcave-like improvements.

The Romney campaign's defense to The New York Times was that "it's simply a mechanism for storing cars in tight spaces."

Or, of course, he could fancy himself as Bruce Wayne, who has been known to use a secret elevator or two to access his unique transportation.
