Report: HP to Reconnect PC and Printing Units

Bloomberg News is reporting that Hewlett-Packard is preparing to combine its PC and printing units.

In a story out this morning, Bloomberg reported that Todd Bradley, executive vice president of the HP's PC division since 2005, will lead the new merger in order to "help cut expenses and simplify management."

"By reuniting the PC and printing divisions, Hewlett-Packard is undoing a change made by former CEO Mark Hurd," wrote Bloomberg. "He broke up the units in 2005, during his first year running the company."

At this morning's opening bell, Hewlett-Packard stock began dropping on the NASDAQ exchange. As of mid-morning, HPQ was down more than 1 percent to $23.70 a share.
