Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter wasted no time in naming John McGee's replacement. Less than 24 hours after Caldwell's District 10 Republican Committee chose attorney Jim Rice as its first choice to replace McGee, Otter chose Rice as the Idaho Senate's newest legislator. McGee resigned on Feb. 22 in the shadow of sexual-harassment allegations lodged by a Senate attache.
Rice has already indicated that he plans to run for the District 10 Senate seat in the November election.
