State Police Also Investigating Sexual Harassment Charges Against McGee

Idaho State Police have confirmed that they are also investigating sexual-harassment charges against John McGee, which led to the former Canyon County legislator's abrupt resignation on Wednesday.

Attorney General Lawrence Wasden launched an investigation after a State Senate attache accused McGee of sexual harassment. The attache has since been reassigned and is on paid administrative leave. McGee did not admit any wrongdoing, according to Senate President Pro Tem Brent Hill. Hill wouldn't comment on the possibility of criminal charges being filed.

"That would be for other agencies to decide," said Hill.

Col. Jerry Russell of the Idaho State Police confirmed that he met with Wasden on Wednesday, shortly before McGeee's resignation was announced.
