One Dead in Small Plane Crash at Boise Terminal

A National Transportation Safety Board investigation is expected to probe a fatal small-airplane crash at the Boise Airport.

The airport confirmed this morning that a small Lanceair experimental aircraft crashed around 9 a.m., coming down between two runways. The Lancair is a single-engine prop plane. The only person aboard, the pilot, was killed in the crash.

Emergency crews confirmed that they had received a report of a fire aboard the aircraft before it crashed.

Following the mid-morning crash, the airport remained opened, using one runway.
