Following Chase, Nampa Man Charged With Fifth DUI

When a Nampa man was being pursued by Eagle Police after they said they spotted his vehicle weaving in and out of traffic on Monday night, he knew something the cops didn't: he had already been arrested for four previous DUIs, his last incident resulting in a five-year prison sentence. If convicted of the fifth DUI, he faces up to 10 years behind bars.

Monday's arrest followed a brief car and foot chase, ending when the suspect crashed his vehicle into a tree in the Banbury Meadow subdivision in Eagle. An alert neighbor spotted the crash and held the suspect until law enforcement arrived moments later.

When he was booked into the Ada County Jail, the suspect refused to take a blood alcohol test, so a blood sample was drawn. He'll be arraigned later today on felony charges of driving under the influence, eluding law enforcement and driving on a suspended license.
