Report: St. Luke's System to Grow Further


The St. Luke's health system is in talks that could see its network of care centers expand further. According to a report in this morning's Times News, St. Benedict's Family Medical Center in Jerome, which opened in 1952 by the Catholic Church, is in formal negotiations to become part of the St. Luke's network.

St. Luke's, the only Idaho-based nonprofit health system and one of the largest employers in the Gem State manages, several hospitals including its Boise medical center, the St. Luke's Children's Hospital, the Mountain States Tumor Institute and medical centers in McCall, Meridian and the Wood River Valley.

St. Benedict's in Jerome is currently operated by Duluth, Minn.-based Essentia Community Hospitals and Clinics.
