Yellow Air Alert, More Showers in Forecast

The Treasure Valley begins another summer week with an unsettled weather pattern. A yellow ozone alert has been issued for the region, with a forecast air quality index of 58. Some pollutants may be a moderate health concern for people who are unusually sensitive to ozone.

Additionally, the National Weather Service is predicting a chance of showers through much of today with highs of 90 to 95 degrees. Monsoonal moisture surged into Southwest Idaho last evening. Localized flooding was reported along State Street near 28th Street in northwest Boise. Police shut down some roads when manhole covers began floating down the street. Heavy flooding was also reported on the Boise Bench, Meridian and Nampa.

Sunny skies and temperatures in the 90s are in the long-range forecast.
