The Associated Press reported late today that Debbie Field has turned in her resignation as Idaho's drug czar. Appointed by Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter in 2007, Field is expected to leave her post as head of Idaho's Office of Drug Policy on Friday.

Field served six terms in the Idaho House, representing District 19 (southeast Boise), and worked as campaign manager for Otter.

In her resignation letter, Field said she wanted to spend more time with her family.
