Glossy Eight-Page Ad for New CCDC Executive Director

Boise's Capital City Development Corporation has secured the services of a Washington State firm to find CCDC's new executive director. Jensen and Cooper of Kirkland, Wash., has published a glossy eight-page ad that reads more like a travel brochure for Boise.

The listed salary range is $125,000-$150,000 in addition to benefits and relocation. The new executive director will replace Phil Kushlan, who is retiring in a few weeks on his 12th anniversary with Boise's urban renewal agency. Kushlan told Citydesk that he is assisting CCDC with the search and he expects the process to last until September at the earliest.

Even thought Kushlan told Citydesk that his position must remain "apolitical," the job description requires experience in "highly charged and possibly political environments. A balance of assertiveness, diplomacy, confidence, and a sense of humor will serve this person well."

Kushlan has negotiated a one-year consulting arrangement with CCDC in which he will basically be paid the equivalent of his salary while helping his replacement's transition.
