Weyerhauser Asks ITD to Haul Mega-Load on U.S. 12

You already know about mega-loads from ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil. Now, Weyerhauser wants to be next in line to haul giant equipment across U.S. Highway 12.

If approved by the Idaho Transportation Department, an evaporator measuring 24 feet wide, 25 feet tall and 184 feet long would cross the state via U.S. 12 before moving into Montana and up to the company's tissue pulp mill in Alberta, Canada.

If Weyerhauser gets the green light, the $79 milion evaporator would be built in China, shipped across the ocean to the Port of Vancouver, Wash., and then barged to the Port of Lewiston before being loaded onto a giant rig.
