Manwill Murder Trial Begins Today

Beginning today, the community is expected to relive many of the tragic details of the disappearance and murder of 8-year-old Robert Manwill.

It's been nearly two years since the death of the young boy and today, the the trial of Daniel Ehrlick begins in Boise's 4th District Court. Ehrlick, the boyfriend of Manwill's mother, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. He is accused of beating the boy repeatedly, ending with a fatal head injury.

In the summer of 2009, when Manwill disappeared, a community-wide series of searches led to the discovery of the body in an irrigation canal.

Melissa Jenkins, Manwill's mother, has already pleaded guilty to aiding the killing of her son. She will be sentenced in August.
