Boise's Department of Parks and Recreation commissioners decided to give dogs a little more love than expected, at least in city parks. Late yesterday, they gave approval for off-leash hours for seven parks, up from the two to four parks that had been expected.
The pilot program will begin April 11. The city will let the program run a year and then consider its success with the possibility of adding more parks.
Here are the parks and the approved hours:
Castle Hills Park, 5350 Eugene St. (sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sunset)
Cypress Park, 4392 S. Tableridge Way (sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sunset)
Hillside Park, 4150 N. 36th St. (4 p.m. to sunset)
Manitou Park, 2001 S. Manitou Ave. (sunrise to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to sunset)
