JFAC Approves Extended Hours for Liquor Stores

The Idaho Legislature's budget writers have approved a spending plan that would see many state liquor stores open later.

The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee voted 10-9 this morning to approve a budget for the Idaho State Liquor Division, which allows extended hours at more than 30 stores. Currently nine of the state's busiest liquor stores remain open until 9 p.m. An additional $400,000 will allow 27 other locations to extend their hours from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The extra hours are expected to generate $2.2 million in additional revenue.
