Risch: No Confidence in Congress to Grapple With Economy

U.S. Senator Jim Risch returned to familiar territory this morning: the Idaho Capitol. In the 1970s, '80s and '90s, Risch served as state senator, lieutenant governor and for seven months as Idaho's Governor.

Risch served up a pessimistic address to the Idaho Senate today, saying the nation's economy was "in serious, serious trouble."

"What's astounding to me is the lack of understanding people have to where we are and what's going on," said Risch. "I can't stand here and tell you you that I have the utmost confidence that Congress will grapple with this problem and solve it."

Risch gave a similar address to the U.S. House.
