Anyone holding their breath waiting for a decision on mega-loads probably ought to get their Christmas shopping done first. Following two days of testimony and evidence, Hearing Officer Merlyn Clark has asked for post-hearing briefs (i.e. closing arguments) in writing rather than drag the hearing on any longer.
Clark will mull ConocoPhillips' request to haul four giant coke drums across north central Idaho and send his recommendations to Idaho Transportation Dept. Director Brian Ness sometime before Christmas.
Clark conceded that Conoco "wants this expedited," and he would try to give an expedited decision.
