A specialty grocery store has cleared its second major hurdle with ease, and is now poised to begin construction on the west end of Boise's downtown by year's end.
Boise's Design Review Committee approved plan this week to build a 25,000-square-foot Henry's Farmers Market on a parcel of land bordered by Bannock, Idaho, 15th and 16th streets. Plans also show an outdoor plaza between the grocery store and an 1,800-square-foot retail building, presumably a drug store. Boise's Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 1 to approve the project.
This would be the first Henry's location outside of Southern California or Arizona. Each store promotes a strong emphasis on produce, but also includes meat, seafood, floral, bakery, deli and holistic health departments.
