The polls are open...at least for early voting in Ada and Canyon counties.
Beginning Tuesday morning, voting began for those who may want to avoid election-day lines on Tuesday, Nov. 2. Early voting will be allowed weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. In Ada, voters can go to the offices of election services at 400 Benjamin in Boise. That's behind the Target store on Milwaukee. In Canyon County, early voters need to go to 1102 E. Chicago in Caldwell.
A big reminder: voter identification is being checked at the polls. Voters are expected to produce identification issued by the State of Idaho or federal governent. Contrary to a repor in the Idaho Statesman, citizens without identification may also be permitted to vote. They'll need to sign an affidavit, confirming their eligibility.
Ada county officials told Citydesk that absentee balloting is high this year, at least higher than other off-year elections. Voters can request an absentee ballot until Wednesday,Oct. 27.
