$15 Million for Idaho Rural Health Centers


The Affordable Care Act is generating millions more for Idaho caregivers, the latest round of funding earmarked for underserved patients.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services announced Friday, that nearly $15 million will be used as new investment in community health centers, specifically in Payette and Plummer. Grantees at Valley Family Health Care center in Payette and the Benewah Medical Center in Plummer estimate the awards will help serve nearly 2,700 new patients.

Nationwide, community health centers serve nearly 19 million patients, about 40 percent of whom have no health insurance.
