Go to the box office at Boise State's Bronco Stadium and you'll learn there are no more single tickets for sale for Saturday's home opener against Oregon State. It's not that there aren't any tickets, but to get a seat at Saturday's game through the Boise State box office, you'll have to buy season tickets.
Check out Craigslist and you'll see single tickets for sale up to $300. And there are a lot of student tickets for re-sale. Caveat emptor. Any student ticket must be accompanied by a student ID at the gate.
Citydesk checked in with Stubhub, the national Internet marketplace for all things-ticketwise.
"I can tell you that Saturday's game is our biggest Boise State seller in our history," Stubhub spokesperson Joellen Ferrer told Citydesk. "I can't tell you exactly how many have been sold through Stubhub, but it's definitely our highest grosser for BSU."
Ferrer said the average price on StubHub is about $170 with some going as high as $850. As of this morning, Ferrer said 75 tickets were for sale on the site.
Unlike Craigslist or eBay, Stubhub charges a 25 percent commission at the time of sale. The buyer pays 10 percent of the market value (the ticket's original sales price), and the seller pays an additional 15 percent of the price agreed upon by buyer and seller.
Ferrer said Idaho buyers and Oregon buyers are nearly dead even in purchasing tickets on Stubhub.
