Idaho Fish and Game Ready to Fight Federal Ruling on Wolves

Not that they can do much about it, but the Idaho Fish and Game Commission thumbed its nose at the Aug. 5 federal court order re-listing wolves under the Endangered Species Act. The order put an end to any immediate plans to scheduled another public wolf hunt in Idaho.

On Monday, Fish and Game commissioners passed a resolution, stating the re-listing is "contrary to state management of wildlife." The resolution also clearly states that it will pursue all legal options to restore full authority and control over wolf management.

Commissioners say they will work with Idaho's congressional delegation and Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter to "correct" the federal court decision.
