Independent gubernatorial candidate Jana Kemp has been busy this week: busy dismissing high-profile events as being partisan.
On Aug. 10, Kemp fired off a letter to the president of the City Club of Boise, challenging the organization's mission in inviting only Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter and his Democratic challenger Keith Allred to a candidate forum slated for Wednesday, Sept. 15.
Now, Kemp is challenging the non-profit status of Catholic Charities of Idaho. Kemp says a Friday, Sept. 10 "roast" of Otter and Allred is a political event instead of a fundraiser for the charity. Incumbent Democrat Rep. Walt Minnick and his Republican challenger, Raul Labrador, were also scheduled to be roasted. Catholic Charities sent out a communication on Thursday, indicating that their roast has been postponed, pending some kind of resolution.
