Federal Judge Revisits Suit Against Idaho Prison

It's been more than a quarter century since a federal judge first heard about botched medical care at the Idaho State Correctional Institution.

Today (Monday) U.S. District Judge Lynn Winmill will again take up the suit, listening to arguments on whether to close a portion of the complaint. Some inmates say things haven't improved and medical caregiving at the prison needs fixing.

Attorneys for Idaho say they'd prefer a new trial rather than revisiting the original lawsuit which is now approaching 30 years old.
