Phony Golf Boosters are Terrorizing a Fairway Near You

Boise Police issued a consumer alert on April 14, in response to several complaints about a suspicious magazine hocker in Southeast Boise. Apparently, the knave in question has been knocking on doors near Cloverdale Road, claiming to be selling magazines in support of the Boise State golf team. Boise State officials confirmed there was no such drive going on.

In addition, one caller told police that the seller was aggressive and intimidating while at her doorway-hardly behavior befitting these aristocrats of the links. Anyone who has purchased magazines from this phony seller is warned that their mags are only good for reading-not, unfortunately, for the far more important task of supporting college athletics.
