Christopher Miller probably won't be nominated for father of the year anytime soon. He'll be otherwise engaged at the Bonneville County Jail, facing child endangerment charges.

The Idaho State Journal reports Miller, 38, of Indiana, was staying at an Idaho Falls hotel. That's where witnesses said Miller dangled his 7-year-old daughter over a balcony ledge, threatening to drop her. The child was eight stories above the ground and police said Miller was intoxicated.

The Journal reports the child's mother later told police an argument erupted during Miller's holiday's visit with his children at the Hotel on the Falls in Idaho Falls. The woman told authorities that when she left the hotel room and was downstairs in the parking lot, she heard a girl screaming and saw Miller dangling the child over the balcony railing. The child reportedly got away and ran downstairs to her mother.

KIDK-TV reports Miller faces a Wednesday, Jan. 13 court hearing in Bonneville County Magistrate Court, where he'll answer to a charge of felony injury to a child.
