Idaho Criminals: Dumbest Week Ever?

A Northern Idaho man could face 10 years in prison after agreeing to his buddy's request to shoot him in the chest with a 9mm pistol. David Hueth of Kamiah thought the risk was minimal; after all, his 20-year-old chum Alexander Swandic was wearing a flak jacket when he asked to be plugged. Unfortunately, neither the shooter nor the shot realized that flak jackets are designed to stop flying shrapnel, not bullets. Swandic died on December 13, and an Orofino jury convicted Hueth of involuntary manslaughter last week.
