The two BOISE WEEKLY REVIEWS are about the KUNA El Gallo Giro, but are posted here under the Boise location. The Boise location came later, tried to capitalize on the wonderful reputation of the Kuna location.

I believe ALL the above reviews are about the KUNA location.

Make the trip, and be willing to wait at prime time.
The lunch buffet on Thursday and Friday is very good
with lots of variety and tortillas being made where you
get your food.

This is the place where I wander away from the known and the
usual. I have never been disappointed. The seafood selections
are sure to please.

The quality at El Gallo has stayed high for years. The owner, Enrique seems
to be there every hour it is open. The staff works hard to make sure you have
a great experience. Enrique is also a strong supporter of the Kuna community,
especially the schools.

The reviews above are about the KUNA restaurant if they mention Enrique.
I have not been to the Glenwood one. The Kuna El Gallo Giro is outstanding.

My husband and I willingly make the trip from Boise when we have a craving for good, quality mexican food (which is often). We have yet to be disappointed. The service and food are great. justicenow is correct, Enrique does seem to be there all the time. He has a constant eye on the place and keeps his staff alert of customer's needs. HIGHLY recommend the trip to Kuna. Pay no attention to the location, it's worth it! Just don't expect to get a table quickly on Friday or Saturday nights!

We went to Gl Gallo Giro five times in the last 2 months. I have never been disappointed with any of my visits and the quality of the food always impress me. Everything from their table chips and salsa, the burrito gordo, the mocajete's to their amazing tortillas makes the trip worth while. Of course, we only live a mile and a half away, but even if I lived much farther away in boise or mountain home, I would make a special trip just to get there. The servers have always been nice, energetic, and fast; and the atmosphere has always been lively. I can't wait to go there again!!

Alright, what's the story behind the two restaurants with the same name? The one on Glenwood's quite good, especially the Molcajetes. It's near the top of my list for Mexican in Boise, but I've not had a chance to compare it to El Gallo Gira Kuna.

There are two restaurants named El Gallo Giro in Ada County. They are not affiliated with each other. One is in Kuna (which is the older of the two) and the other is in Garden City.

There ALWAYS seems to be confusion. I get the impression that the very favorable reviews are all about the restaurant in Kuna with this name. However there it is on the BW website - the address 5285 Glenwood Street. Putting it in the heart of Garden City.

So - which is it?

(We've dined at the Kuna venue and enjoyed it... although maybe not enough to drive out there frequently. But how's the Glenwood Gallo Giro? Apparently we won't know from reading these BW reviews... Maybe BW should make some effort to clarify the issue for readers.)
