Discovery State Park

Discovery is a five-acre site located eight miles southeast of Boise just off State Highway 21. This park is situated along the waters of the Boise River just downstream from Lucky Peak Dam. Discovery is a great place to picnic, fish and relax among the magnificent trees and the rocky canyons which offer beauty and solitude. You can usually see waterfowl and songbirds during the summer. Bald eagles are common during the winter. Pets are allowed only on leash. Ride your bike to Discovery and Sandy Point all the way from Boise on the greenbelt and bike path. It's great exercise and you don't have to pay a motorized vehicle entrance fee.
