An Idaho man who was killed while robbing a bank in San Diego might have several posthumous charges added to his rap sheet. Franklin Joseph Rhodes, 37, of Idaho Falls was shot by an off-duty policeman on November 10. It took SoCal police five days to establish Rhodes' identity. Records showed his gun, a 9-millimeter pistol, was purchased last month in the Pocatello suburb of Chubbuck, just days before someone matching Rhodes' description robbed a Cash Store and a local Bank of Commerce branch. Idaho Falls TV station KPVI 6 reported on November 17 that the FBI and local detectives are working together to compare video surveillance footage from the gun store and the Cash Store robbery. If they find a positive match, they will lean back and say, "Well, looks like he probably did it. How about that?"
