A Florida woman has admitted to making threats against the employee of an Eagle hotel, U.S. attorneys announced on April 6. Brittney Denise Conan, 24, of Gulf Breeze, Florida, entered her guilty plea in federal court in Boise, following an investigation by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms and the Ada County Sheriff's Department.
In her plea, Conan admitted to making a series of irate phone calls to a woman who worked at the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle, other hotel employees and the woman's mother. During the calls, Conan threated to kill the woman and her family, to kill hotel employees and to blow up the stately suburban hotel-including its luxurious in-room amenities like complimentary copies of USA Today, heated indoor pool/whirlpool/fitness center and 3,300 square feet of meeting space. The U.S. Attorney's Office did not indicate that Conan made any steps toward living up to her threats; after all, the mini-bar bill attached to her sentence would be as daunting as the imprisonment itself. Her sentencing is set for June 13.
