While members of the media are used to seeing the occasional press release hit their desks, the releases were coming fast and furious on June 2.
Things started out with the announcement of the arrest of Kyle Guyton of Boise, who was arrested for possessing child porn. Guyton was arrested back on May 30 after an investigation found that he had accumulated numerous images and videos on his home computer over several years. The 22-year-old was the subject of an investigation by the Idaho Attorney General's Office and the Idaho Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
Then, on June 1, BPD arrested Boise resident Jack Steven Basinger after they found a half-pound of marijuana stashed away at his home.
The police had come on a noise complaint from a neighbor, but the strong smell of pot alerted them that maybe it was more than raucous teens.
He was charged with possession and intent to distribute, as well as possession of paraphernalia.
