A fresh batch of artists is headed to downtown Boise residencies, according to news from the Boise City Department of Arts and History released Friday.
A selection panel chose a group of artists in January to participate in residency fellowships through the spring and summer. Artists will take over studio spaces in three Boise buildings: the Northrup Building at Eighth and Broad streets, Renewal Underground at 517 S. Eighth St., and the Wells Fargo Center at 801 Main St.
Each artist will utilize the studio space from from March to August, creating original work and opening up their spaces during First Thursday.
Painters Kelly Thomas Rule and Joe Kimmel, as well as photographer, designer and printmaker Mike Landa will head to the Northrup Building. Painter and graphic illustrator Sean Kelly will be housed at Renewal Underground. Erika Sather-Smith, printmaker and installation artist, with Jose Angel Saenz, photographer and installation artist, will take up residencies at the Wells Fargo Center.
You can meet the new group of fellows during First Thursday, April 4.
