Few things scream "Hawaii" quite like the ukulele. The tiny strummer marks many a warm breeze rustling the hair of sunblock-slathered vacationers.
Re-Art's ukulele class, taught by Thomas Paul, will transport kids ages 5-12 to sunny Hawaii through the ukulele. The class, which goes down today from 1-2 p.m. at the Boise Public Library's Main Branch, and from 3-4 p.m. at the Hillcrest Branch, teaches young'uns to play basic notes, trains their ears to the different styles of ukulele, and leaves them with the skills to play a song on the instrument.
And the class is free.
